Effective 5 November 2026
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Dion's Pizza Cookbook handles personal information collected through pizzadions.site. It covers what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can request access or deletion.
How long we keep things
Messages
Contact and bulk-order messages are kept long enough to answer the request, plus a reasonable period afterward so we can look back at what was agreed.
Order records
Cookbook orders keep the shipping address and email needed to fulfil and support the purchase, held for as long as accounting and support require.
Technical logs
Basic logs about browser type and pages visited are kept for a shorter period, then deleted or rolled up into anonymous counts.
Information we collect
Two kinds of information come through the site: the details you type in yourself, and the small amount of technical data a browser always shares.
What you give us
- Your name, email address and phone number when you send a message or ask about a bulk order.
- The content of that message, so we can reply with the right answer.
- Shipping address and email when you order the cookbook, so the parcel reaches you.
What the browser sends
- Browser type and general device information, used to keep pages rendering correctly.
- Which pages were opened, counted in aggregate rather than per visitor.
- Rough timestamps that help us spot outages and slow pages.
We do not ask for payment card details through a contact form, and we do not collect information about your religion, health, or political views. If a field is not needed to answer you or send an order, we do not ask for it.
How we use information
Answering you
Form details are used to reply to your question, quote a bulk order, or confirm what a group would like to receive.
Sending orders
Shipping and email details are used to pack, post and support a cookbook order, and to replace a parcel that goes missing.
Keeping the site up
Technical information is used to diagnose problems and see which pages, recipes and style guides are actually useful to visitors.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your contact details for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Legal basis and consent
Where the law requires a stated reason for handling personal information, we rely on two of them. Consent covers the forms you choose to fill in; legitimate interest covers the security and basic measurement that keep the site working. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and withdrawal does not affect handling that already took place before you asked.
If you are in a region whose privacy law gives you additional rights, those rights apply on top of what is described here. Tell us where you are writing from and we will handle the request under the rule that fits.
Cookies and tracking
The site may use cookies and similar technologies to keep pages working and to measure general traffic. A separate Cookie Policy sets out the categories we use and how to control them in your browser. Blocking cookies may affect some features, such as a form remembering what you already typed.
Necessary cookies
Keep the site functioning and remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off through our banner.
Measurement cookies
Count visits and show which pages help people most. Declining them does not block any part of the site.
Data retention
We keep each kind of record only for as long as it has a job to do, then delete it or turn it into a figure that no longer identifies anyone. The table below is the short version.
Record
Kept for
Then what
Contact messages
Long enough to answer, plus a reference period
Deleted on request or once the reference period ends
Bulk-order requests
Until the order conversation closes
Removed, unless an invoice record must stay
Order and shipping records
As long as accounting and support require
Archived, then deleted at the end of that period
Technical logs
A short period, then rolled up
Deleted or aggregated into anonymous counts
Sharing with service providers
Running the site and posting cookbooks takes a few outside companies. We share only what each one needs to do its part, and they are expected to handle that information for that purpose alone.
Hosting
Keeps the pages and images online, and holds the technical logs described above.
Carries form submissions and our replies to [email protected].
Shipping
Receives the delivery name and address so a cookbook order can be posted.
Traffic measurement
Reports page counts in aggregate so we can see which recipes and guides people read.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not trade or rent lists of customer names.
Children's privacy, security and changes
Three shorter points belong together here, because each one is about keeping the site predictable for the people who use it.
Children under 13
The site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
How we protect data
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including limiting who can reach order records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us so we can look into it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The updated version is posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Questions about this policy
Ask about anything that is unclear, or send a request about the personal information we hold. Privacy questions reach the same inbox as the rest of the site, and we answer them during office hours.
